SEAWEED-DERIVED CALCIUM

Lithothamnion is a calcium-accumulating red algae that grow in the coastal waters of the Atlantic ocean. It is a natural source of highly digestible calcium and magnesium, essential for healthy bone development and maintenance.

KELP

Kelp is a sea superfood rich in essential minerals such as iodine, critical for healthy thyroid function. Our kelp, Ascophyllum nodosum, is harvested off the shores of Nova Scotia, Canada.

MARINE MICROALGAE

Algae, such as Schizochytrium, are a sustainable source of long-chain omega-3 docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Our algae is grown on shore by fermentation, a far more sustainable and less ecologically damaging practice than fishing.

AMINO ACIDS

Methionine, lysine and tryptophan are three essential amino acids that are commonly limiting in homemade diets. In addition to their roles in protein synthesis, methionine is critical in the one-carbon metabolic pathway, lysine is a key component of connective tissues and tryptophan is an important neurotransmitter precursor.

TAURINE and CARNITINE

Taurine and carnitine are amino acid metabolites that, while not dietarily essential for dogs, are beneficial for heart and liver health and function. Taurine is essential for cats of all ages.

SELENIUM

Selenium yeast is a natural source of the essential trace mineral, selenium, which plays an essential role in antioxidant support and immune functions throughout the body.

CALCIUM PHOSPHATE and POTASSIUM

Calcium phosphate is a dietary mineral supplement providing two essential macrominerals: calcium and phosphorus. Potassium citrate is a mineral salt. Calcium and phosphorus, and the balance of the two minerals, are essential for healthy bone development and maintenance, while potassium is an essential electrolyte.
